Portrait: Fridolin Kimonge

My name is Kimonge Malemba Fridolin and many people know me by the nickname Fred. I hold a bachelor's degree in development planning. I work as a Returns Officer in the Extractive Industries Governance Program at the Carter Center based in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

I am also a researcher in natural resource governance, focusing on the development of populations around mining projects with a particular emphasis on the issue of local content.

In collaboration with other colleagues, we carry out research related to development economics focusing on the issue of integration of the informal sector into the formal economy with a focus on artisanal cobalt mining in the DRC.

I am the author of the article " Le contenu local dans le secteur minier en RDC : pour quel résultat?", published in Conjonctures de l'Afrique centrale 2020.
